Topi Ki Dastaan - dir. by Tarique Hameed
This adaptation of Topi Ki Dastaan recreates the turbulence between two childhood friends - Topi and Iffan. Their union is torn apart by the chaos of partition, and the chasms created between neighbours.
2 November 2017
Based on a popular Hindi novel, Topi Shukla, written in the early sixties by Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza, the performance uses a unique storytelling form, dastaan narration, to strike a chord with audiences. Through this process it also reflects on the communal differences arising in the present day scenario.
