PASSION FOR THE

performing arts

AND A RECOGNITION OF

intimate, immersive spaces

WHERE AUDIENCES CAN

engage deeply

OUR STORY
/

When we opened Oddbird in 2016, we just wanted a space where live performance could feel close - less like a distant spectacle and more like something that reached you, not just something you watched.

So we made a room. And that room became a place people returned to. For the performances, yes - but also for the warmth, the feeling, the sense that something real was happening here.

Previously, performances at our venue were made possible through support from the foundation. Today, the theatre curates and presents its own programming.

The OddBird Foundation is a non-profit that collaborates with artists and facilitates development of new work.

Volunteer with us

Live performance thrives on the energy and passion of the people who make it happen. If you’re up for helping with production, front-of-house, or connecting with audiences, we’d love to have you on board. Volunteering is a chance to step behind the scenes and be part of a space where artists and audiences meet and connect.

OUR VISION

Over the years, Oddbird has become a home for independent artists and curious audiences to meet - on equal footing. We curate, produce, and host live arts experiences across theatre, movement, music, and more. Some of it’s polished. Some of it’s raw. All of it is alive.

We work closely with artists at different stages of their practice, and create conditions for performance work to be imagined, shared, and remembered. Our programming is shaped by care and curiosity. We’re drawn to work that invites reflection, sparks connection, and opens up conversation.

We’re not a large institution. We’re still an independently run venue, held up by a small team and a shared belief that live performance matters. That it can be memorable, meaningful - even transformative.

But staying independent doesn’t mean going it alone. Everything we do is made possible by a mix of ticketed events, space rentals, collaborations, and the generosity of people who believe in what we’re building - artists, audiences, and partners alike.
