About

Directed by Anna Hints and set in a smoke sauna, the film follows a group of women sharing their innermost secrets and intimate experiences. As they wash off the shame trapped in their bodies, they regain their strength through a sense of community. The film’s take on women’s lives is as delicate as it is compelling, presenting a raw honesty that underscores the removal of clothes and pretences in the sauna. Smoke Sauna Sisterhood gave Anna Hints the Best Director title at the Sundance Film Festival 2023, it received Best Documentary at the European Film Academy awards and was Estonia's official entry to the 2023 Oscars.
