Photodump: The Table Edition - Meha Desaii
A participatory performance and evolving installation by Meha Desai that reimagined how we share photographs in an age of endless scrolling.
27 July 2025
In a world of endless scrolling and algorithmic memory, Photodump: The Table Edition offered a deliberate pause. This is not a performance one watched, but one entered. Participants were invited to bring a photo that matters to them - something they've kept, carried, maybe even forgotten. Over the course of a 30-40 minute one-on-one encounter, the participant and artist Meha Desai sat with the image, at the end of which Meha made a portrait. Not of the photo, but of the moment shared.
These portraits, alongside the records of the photographs themselves, formed the beginnings of a growing archive, one that resists the fast, flattened choreography of social media.
