Notes on Chai - Jyoti Dogra
In an engrossing solo performance, Jyoti Dogra employed body, voice, and text to weave a collage of stories, and explored the inherent humour in daily mundane conversations.
6 July 2018
Jyoti Dogra brought body, voice, and text together to create metaphors exploring the inner and outer landscape of urban lives bringing forth the immediacy, and conflicts of the everyday. Drawing from various influences like Tibetan throat singing, western overtones and extended vocal techniques, the performance was a series of vignettes portraying everyday scenes that are overlooked by our peripheral vision.
