Music in Movement: A Dalcroze Eurhythmics Session by Heeya Behal
This workshop explored music through the body as the first instrument - using simple movement to feel rhythm and expression.
20 September 2025
We often think of music as something you either master through training or simply consume as a listener. This workshop broke down this divide by reminding us that our body is the first and most natural instrument we have.
Drawing from Dalcroze Eurhythmics, a method that connects music and movement, Heeya created an interactive space where participants could explore rhythm, melody, and expression through physical play and improvisation. The focus was not on technical ability but on discovery: how music feels when embodied, how rhythm shapes movement, and how movement, in turn, deepens our experience of sound.
