Jhumkewali was a coming-of-age love story set in 1974 Bombay. When Bindu and Rekha collide over a lost earring in a women’s college, their friendship blooms into affection across union meetings, family pressure, disco nights, and endless local train rides. As protests erupt, Bindu and Rekha must find a way to make their first date a reality. Created as a nostalgic portrait of a changing city, the piece moved between intimacy and unrest, capturing the urgency of young love finding space in turbulent times.
