Hum Nawazi | WEME: Back to Roots
A musical concert blending Iranian and Indian elements with jazz and folk, featuring original compositions for sitar, sarangi, tabla, and jazz guitar.
11 July 2025
Founded in 2009 by composer and multi-instrumentalist Sina Fakhroddin, World Ethnic Music Ensemble (WEME) is a space where Persian and Indian musical lineages meet jazz, folk, and contemporary sounds. WEME's sound is shaped around original compositions by Sina, rooted in Persian and Indian ragas and scales, yet free from rigid forms - flowing across genres to create a truly global sound.
After three years away from the stage, the original lineup reunited at Oddbird, offering audiences a rich, layered sonic journey that crosses borders and traditions. This performance invited listeners to experience music as a meeting place for cultures and a testament to shared human expression.
