Guru Dakshina - Aditya Roy

A tribute by martial artist and performer Aditya Roy, Guru Dakshina was the story of a boy who dreams of the great warriors of the past and of being one of them.

18 June 2017

The performance used a flute, which doubled as a weapon to demonstrate movements from the traditional filipino blade art of Pekiti Tirsia Kali and to compose an original musical score. PTK is a lethal martial art which is used by select armed forces in the Philippines and India. Aditya has been practicing martial arts for nearly two decades and his guru Leo Gaje is the sole keeper of the form. The evening included a brief interactive session and demonstration followed by the performance.
