Face to Face - choreographed by Jyotsna Shourie

In this theatrical dance production, Sita and Draupadi came together from across time and space.

23 September 2017

As female protagonists of the two Sanskrit epics (Ramayana and Mahabharata respectively), Sita and Draupadi bear the cultural burden of maintaining pride and grace through intense hardships. Choreographed by Jyotsna Shourie, this performance considered the deep influence that these mythological figures have had on countless generations of women. Enacted through Bharatnatyam and spoken dialogue, these iconic characters established a potent connection on stage, and harmoniously shared their experiences with one another.
