A facilitated script reading that invites you to step into a character, explore a story, and read as part of an ensemble - no prior theatre experience required.
8 October 2023
Via Audience Reading Room, participants have a chance to immerse themselves in an ensemble. Led by professional theatre facilitators, these script readings allow you to explore characters, ideas, and perspectives in a safe and supportive space.
This session spotlighted The Compartment by Annie Zaidi, and was facilitated by Dhwani Vij. The script follows Nikita, a young woman, travelling in an air-conditioned train compartment. During the overnight journey, there is only one other passenger, Shashwat. Nikita is uncomfortable because the coach has curtains across each berth and across the aisle, which creates an atmosphere of cosy privacy.
