Ana Pinhal: Fado
An evening of live Fado - which found its home in the local pubs and cafes of Lisbon in the 1820s.
24 February 2018
Ana Pinhal is a Portuguese vocalist who specialises in the Fado style of music. Popular in the cultural milieu of sailors and courtesans, it is full of tunes that are both heartrending and hopeful. Ana and her accompanists brought this slice of Portuguese culture to India and demonstrated its accessibility and transcendency across continents and cultures.
