ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Since 2016, Oddbird has been a home for independent artists - a room full of strangers sharing good memories, warm vibes, and the magic of live performance. This September, we open a new season with the Friends of Oddbird Festival - four days of theatre, music, and dance, unfolding across every corner of the venue. From the experimental to the familiar, the festival is a celebration of the full spectrum of live performance.It’s also part of something larger: our campaign to keep Oddbird alive and thriving. Each performance, each ticket, and each conversation helps sustain the stage we’ve built together.

PERFORMANCES

Each day brings together theatre, music, and dance - from boundary-pushing experiments to crowd-favourite classics. Handpicked artists take over Oddbird’s spaces in intimate formats. Every show is a chance to gather, reflect, and celebrate live performance.

Shifting Focus brings dance from stage to screen in a specially curated series of films by Aditi Mangaldas, known for her pathbreaking work in both classical and contemporary expressions. Across contemporary, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Manipuri, the films offer a cinematic lens into both tradition and experiment. Screened continuously throughout the four days of the festival, this is designed to be an experience zone within Oddbird - open for anyone to step into at any time. The featured films are:
