Nazar Ke Saamne - Freeda Theatre

An ensemble piece by Freeda Theatre that invited you to witness a story of survival through movement and song, revealing the beauty and brutality of everyday life.

22 July 2025

Rooted in the lived experiences of women from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities in Madhya Pradesh, this ensemble performance journeyed through childhood, youth, and womanhood. It invited audiences to look beyond sensational headlines and fixed narratives that surround social inequality and violence - turning attention instead to the quiet residues of memory, and the tensions between forgetting and remembering. Key moments of shifting bodies, intimate songs, and collective movement offered a rooted experience, allowing viewers to witness stories often left untold.

Freeda Theatre is an intergenerational collective of women in Madhya Pradesh using theatre to reclaim their stories and reimagine their futures. Maraa Collective is a Bangalore-based media and arts collective working at the intersection of community, culture, and social justice.
