Kadahin Milandaasin Live - The Tarun Balani Quartet

Rooted in jazz and set around questions of where we come from and what we carry, the Tarun Balani Quartet brought their album Kadahin Milandaasin to the stage.

22 February 2026

The Tarun Balani Quartet makes music at the meeting point of jazz, improvisation, electronic sound, and lived history. Led by drummer and composer Tarun Balani, with Sonja Ott, Siddharth Gautam, and Luke Marantz, the group works across borders - musical, cultural, and emotional.

Their album, Kadahin Milandaasin, is built around how we came to be, and what endures. Drawing from Balani’s Sindhi lineage and his grandfather’s journey from Sindh to New Delhi, the record folded Sindhi folk traditions into contemporary jazz forms. It listened closely to memory and migration, to the ache of separation and the persistent work of preservation. The result was music that doesn’t explain so much as it stays - with the stories, the silences, and the spaces in between.
