A musical concert where Kurdish and Persian percussion met the Manganiyar tradition, featuring new arrangements alongside rare folk songs from Rajasthan.
3 August 2025
A live concert, conceptualised and led by Iranian-Kurdish percussionist and composer Sina Fakhroddin. Featuring the daf, tombak, kamaicha, dholak, morchang, bhapang, and khartal, this musical dialogue brought together two ancient traditions - from the mountains of Kurdistan to the sands of Rajasthan. Alongside new arrangements and improvisations, the concert also featured some of the oldest songs from the Manganiyar repertoire.
