Audience Reading Room: Shikhandi facilitated by Manishikha Baul
A facilitated script reading that invites you to step into a character, explore a story, and read as part of an ensemble - no prior theatre experience required.
31 March 2024
Via Audience Reading Room, participants have a chance to immerse themselves in an ensemble. Led by professional theatre facilitators, these script readings allow you to explore characters, ideas, and perspectives in a safe and supportive space.
This session spotlighted Shikhandi by Faezeh Jalali, and was facilitated by Manishikha Baul. The play is a comic, tongue-in- cheek retelling of the story of Mahabharata's Shikhandi; mixing the traditional with the contemporary, the grandeur of physical Indian storytelling and contemporary English verse - questioning gender, sexuality, maleness, femaleness and everything in-between.
