All ticket sales are final and non-refundable, except in the event of a complete cancellation by Wasp Studios Pvt Ltd (WSPL) or Oddbird Theatre.

Tickets are non-transferable unless explicitly allowed in the booking confirmation.

Entry rights are reserved. Oddbird Theatre and WSPL reserve the right to refuse admission or remove any attendee whose conduct is disruptive, unsafe, or violates event norms.

Latecomers may not be permitted to enter once a performance has started. Entry is at the discretion of the front-of-house staff.

WSPL is not responsible for event content, themes, or opinions expressed by artists or performers.

Attendees are advised to review age suitability and content warnings before booking.

Performances may be recorded or photographed for documentation or promotional use. By attending, you consent to being part of such media.

No unauthorized photography, videography, or recording is permitted during the performance.

In the event of rescheduling, your ticket remains valid for the new date. No refunds shall be issued unless otherwise stated.

WSPL shall not be liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings occurring on the premises.

The following items are strictly prohibited at the venue - including but not limited to open flames, firearms or replicas, pyrotechnic devices, narcotics or illegal substances, animals and pets.

WSPL reserves the right of entry and access at the venue.

Any disruption, unruly behavior, nuisance caused or damage/destruction to the venue shall be actionable and WSPL reserves the right to take appropriate action in this regard.

About the event
This performance is led by Dr Shruti Jauhari - a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist, educator, and scholar whose work spans performance, research, and public engagement. She is the author of Elements of Hindustani Classical Music and the creator of Shruti Samvaad, a popular lecture-demonstration and podcast series on the aesthetics, history, and theory of Indian classical music.
The first half of the evening features khayal - a form known for its slow unfolding and improvisation, where the artist explores the beauty of a raga through slow and fast compositions, guided by musical imagination. In the second half, we move into thumri - a lighter, more expressive form rooted in romance and devotion. It centres emotional nuance and lyrical meaning, offering contrast in tone and texture.
Together, the khayal and thumri create a rich listening experience - both thoughtful and emotive. You don’t need to know the rules to follow along, just…
