About the event
Taak and Humans in the Loop are two sharply distinct yet thematically entwined films presented in collaboration with Storiculture.
Taak follows Shalini, a nightclub bouncer in Delhi, as she navigates coercive surveillance through a mandatory smartwatch policy at work. In Humans in the Loop, Nehma, an Adivasi data labeller in Jharkhand, trains AI systems while confronting the algorithmic amplification of social bias. Both films delve into questions of control, resistance, and the intimate costs of data extraction - through performances rooted in lived experience and context. Together, they create a tense, reflective double bill on technology's human edge.
