Ek Tanha Chand is a live performance in the dastangoi tradition - minimal, intimate, and deeply personal. Interwoven with music and archival fragments, the piece draws from the poetry and prose of Meena Kumari to uncover a voice that’s often been overshadowed by the mythology around her.

This show attempts to be conversation between the public image and the private world of an artist who lived - and wrote - at the edge of visibility. Combining live narration, songs, and storytelling, the performance offers a space to linger with Meena Kumari’s words, and the world she moved through. Moments from her life, both cinematic and personal, unfold gently. What emerges is not just a tribute to a screen icon, but to a woman who saw through the gaze that tried to contain her.

The show will run for 70 minutes.
