Deviant Octopus by Jasmine Yadav, Winner - PECDA 2024

Ever felt like you don’t quite fit into a box? Deviant Octopus dives headfirst into that feeling. The dancer moves between human, creature, and something in between - twisting, bending, shifting. It’s all about desire: how we express it, how it’s controlled, and what happens when we let it take over. Using movement, clothing, and play, this piece peels back layers of expectation to reveal something wild, raw, and unapologetically alive. This is a work-in-progress sharing.
