About the event

Audience Reading Room is for anyone curious about theatre — whether you're completely new or simply miss being in a rehearsal room. In this edition, you’ll join a group of readers for a guided script reading of I Killed My Mother / It Wasn’t My Fault by Mallika Shah, facilitated by theatre-maker Krittika Bhattacharjee.

Together, you'll explore character, voice, and story in a safe, supportive space. There’s no pressure to perform — just the invitation to listen, imagine, and step into someone else’s shoes for an evening. Come read, connect, and maybe surprise yourself. What happens when you read a play not just as text—but as a character?

A one-act play, I Killed My Mother / It Wasn’t My Fault, opens difficult questions around guilt, responsibility, and the weight of relationships. Through character work and conversation, you will engage with the script’s layered voices and perspectives.
