Known for working with lesser-known narratives within mythology from the Indian subcontinent including queer & feminist stories, Dr. Himanshu Srivastava is a Bharatanatyam dancer and painter. In a solo piece called The Abandoned Gopi, he presents a rare story of Shiva and Krishna, exploring themes of surrender, devotion, and inner transformation. His deep understanding of these metaphors make his presentations a novel way of exploring mythology.

In a production titled Breath, dancers Deepali Salil and Sayani Chakraborty present a duet, with the accompaniment of live musicians. Through Bharatanatyam, they essay the importance of developing a deeper understanding of our emotions. Drawing focus to the seemingly simple act of breathing, this piece calls for befriending one’s breath to understand emotions in a deeper way.
